The Play Label Records outlet is fast becoming an essential place to go for fans of top quality club music. It has so far put out 8 such releases and the ninth, which comes from Red’Out, is a second from the prodigious talent as he also released a top EP on the label in 2014. Featuring two standout originals the package also comes with two on point remixes that make it a shoe in for lots of success in the coming weeks and months.
The pick of the bunch might just be the final track, which his a Latency remix of Daisy Bell. It is patient and slow building, with heavy chords, dramatic effects and sweeping pads all working to make you move and feel something. The original version of the track is wavy and deep, filled with a little suggestion of darkness and unsettled vibes and comes with colourful chords from outer space. Elsewhere there is Waiting For Saturn, which is a a playful mid tempo home groove with wide open pads, organic finger click and skipping drums. In the hands of remixer Denis Horvat, the thing becomes more final and synthetic but is just as great. As such there is lots to love on this fine new release.
Odyssey is out now and available here.
