For those with an encyclopaedia-like memory for all things dance music, you might well remember the massive DJ Bart release of 2001 ‘The Message’ which went viral back in 2001 when it got a release on one of the longest serving labels in electronic music – Kontor Records. No less than thirteen years later, DJ Bart, now working under the tag of Bart Reeves has teamed up with Tale & Dutch to revisit the classic to bring it back up to the sound of today. Tough Stuff!’s standout talents Tale & Dutch are no strangers to pulling off huge releases having made multiple appearances in a bunch of global hype and sales charts in recent years including a top twenty slot in the Most Wanted Dance Chart in Germany and taking down #28 in the US National Dance Charts where they jumped in front of the likes of David Guetta and Brintey Spears along the way. Their list of projects covers some of the music industry’s most popular figures, not limited to remixes for the likes of Pitbull and Lumidee – to name but a couple. Tale & Dutch have got the formula for merging vocals and parts from pop music and stripping the commercial elements away and rebuilding credible electronic dance music cuts that are made for the main room. ‘The Message’ is a fully functioning 2014 big-room production that does the original proud, whilst offering a flavour of modern EDM. The original was a memorable track of 2001 and with Tale & Dutch on hand for the rework; we’re predicating that this too will be remembered in the future for all the right reasons.
‘The Message’ is out now on Big Beef.
