Per Hammar & Parallax Deep - 10 Years

10YEARS is a brand new and celebratory project between two long time friends, Per Hammar & Maya Lourenço aka Parallax Deep. Channeling their trippier and more hypnotic works, the label will start with a split, limited run 12” that marks ten years of friendship and then promises to develop into a great outlet for floor facing house and techno. A launch party is all confirmed for 4th February 2017 at Under Bron in Stockholm with Per Hammar & Parallax Deep playing back to back all night long.

Per Hammar is the boss of Dirty Hands and Malmö club Kiloton. He has been making dusty, dubby house and broken techno to great acclaim since 2008, taking in assured labels like Avotre, Dance Club and more. Parallax Deep, meanwhile, is Maya Lourenço's alias for when she is making music on the deep and dubby tip. She's been active under various monikers for a decade and is a real analog lover. Her track on 10YEARS is the first under this new alias.

The pair first met in a kitchen in Sweden in 2007 and since then have played many back to back sets and offered each other feedback and support on music projects. These new tracks—inspired by “the happiness of being in this scene together for 10 years”—were written in Malmö and Stockholm respectively but were shared across the internet at various stages of the writing progress for feedback. They make use of plenty of Roland hardware tools as well as Per Hammar’s custom built Jet Set Space Echo pedal amongst other things, and are two killer cuts as a result.

Per Hammar goes first with the irresistible ‘The Expedition For Mrs. Gustavsson’, a deep and fluid house cut with lots of little imperfections, crackles and bubbles adding character to a slick and stripped back groove. Atmospheric and warm, soul infused and heady, it cannot fail to get connoisseurs on their toes.

‘Parallax Deep’ then offers a similarly rubbery and deep roller in ‘Periscope.’ This one is more electronic and minimal and finds the artist orchestrating myriad synthetic sounds into a bubbling track that is subtly curious and full of late night freakiness.

This is a great debut release from this label; a label that already promises plenty.

Tracklist:

A1. Per Hammar – The Expedition For Mrs. Gustavsson
B1. Parallax Deep – Periscope
