33’s Self-titled Album: A Sonic Adventure into Authenticity

Cheeky and captivating, the synthpop sensation 33 has unleashed their much-anticipated debut album, simply titled ’33’. Comprising Levin Zahnd, Silas Boonstoppel, Roman Mischler, and Janis Zahnd, this four-piece ‘Feel-Good-Sound’ band hails from Bern and has been making waves since their formation in 2016. Their musical journey took a significant leap with a spot at the Gurtenfestival in 2019, garnering attention from media outlets like TeleBärn, nau.ch, and musikch.com.

Released on October 27, 2023, ’33’ is a sonic marvel that seamlessly blends easy-going college rock with warm, pleasant synths. The album offers a compelling mix of raw instrumentation and slick electronic production, creating a unique space where self-discovery, disappointment, and joy within romantic entanglements unfold.

As a culmination of their synthpop journey, ’33’ features twelve tracks, each narrating a distinct story and inviting listeners to delve into the band’s world. From passionate relationships to inner conflicts and the yearning for change, the album’s lyrics mirror the authenticity of the music itself. The journey through ’33’ is a comprehensive exploration of emotions, experiences, and intense moments, making it more than just a collection of songs.

The album’s upbeat energy, characterized by broadly smiling pads and catchy acoustic hooks, evokes a jangle-pop reminiscent of indie tastemakers Parcels fused with the effervescent pop stylings of Daði Freyr.

Dive into the captivating sounds and honest lyrics of ’33’ and let this debut album carry you away on a journey unlike any other.
