Australian producer 44 Ardent is back with a gripping new single titled ‘Curtain Call’ – a song that almost never saw the light of day. Originally created as a pitch for a film project, the song missed its deadline and was shelved for months before Callan rediscovered it and gave it the full treatment it deserved.
“This song began as a pitch for a film brief. I was chasing a big, dark, electronic chorus—a wall of sound with high impact. I wasn’t happy with it, so I missed the deadline and buried the demo on a hard drive, only to rediscover it months later,” he explains.
Luckily, the core idea still hit the mark. With some production polish and a fresh perspective, ‘Curtain Call’ was reborn into the intense and immersive sonic experience now ready for release.
“The core idea still sounded good to me, which is unusual. Often songs can sound much worse after some time away. It was very similar to the version you’re hearing now—just the mix was kinda terrible, so I gave it a solid tidy and here we are! It’s always great when you can bring an idea to life and let others hear it rather than let it sit forever on a drive.”
‘Curtain Call’ is also the first glimpse into a new wave of music from 44 Ardent, who has been hard at work in the studio in recent months. Stay tuned—there’s more on the way.
