Fresh off the back of his recent single ‘Curtain Call’, Australian producer 44 Ardent returns with another standout track, ‘Wake Up’ — a vibrant blend of indie-dance and house, channelling the sounds of Caribou, Jamie xx, and Tourist.
“With this EP I’m trying not to box myself into any particular style or mood, and just go with whatever comes naturally,” he says. “This track actually came from a moment of procrastination. I’m in the final stretch of my PhD and needed a creative break, so I started messing around with a Moog bassline. I’ve got this plugin that emulates an A/DA STD-1 Delay Rack Unit — I ran the bass through it to make it super wide, and the rest of the song just wrote itself.”
‘Wake Up’ is the latest preview of a fresh wave of music 44 Ardent has been crafting in the studio over recent months. Expect more to come soon.
