5 Years of Gruuv EP 4

This summer will mark the celebration of 5 Years for Audiojack’s Gruuv imprint with a run of six various artist EP’s.

AUDIOJACK : ‘’It’s been an incredible ride this past 5 years. Thanks to all who’ve played our records. One year ago we began compiling this project to celebrate 5 years of Gruuv and we’re delighted to have 24 of our favourite producers from 10 countries contribute exclusive new music.

As a compilation it comes in two parts, themed simply as Day and Night. The music will be released on 6 EPs every two weeks throughout the summer and features artwork from one of our favourite artists, the renowned Victoria Topping. Each EP will be released on limited edition vinyl, with a free poster and sticker inside, uniquely stamped from 001 – 500.

Thanks to everyone involved, all around the world. Music provides the greatest unity. It strips away indifferences, supersedes language, nationality, culture, all defining human factors, and leaves one common thing we can all interpret; sound.
Audiojack x’’

Here we enter the latter half of the five years of Gruuv six EP run and EP 4 welcomes the likes of label-founder’s Audiojack themselves, Tuccillo, David Pher and Paul C & Paulo Martini.

Up first is Germany’s David Pher who delivers ‘Wild Eyes’, a typically groove led number with snaking bass grooves, low slung drums and a hypnotic spoken word vocal layered on top. Tuccillo steps up next with ‘Alfatrack’ and as always with the Ibiza based producer we’re treated to a gritty drum-led workout laid out over its near eight minute with swinging snares, bumpy bass tones and swirling atmospherics. Audiojack team up with vocalist Kevin Knapp for ‘On The Record’ next, offering up a direct house composition with a crunchy 4/4 rhythmic drive, bulbous subs, dubby echoes and Knapp’s infectiously hooky vocal stylings. Paul C & Paolo Martini then round the package off with ‘Big Black Car’, laying the focus on organic percussion while brining unfolding electronic licks and vacillating bass tones into the mix sporadically.

EP 1 – Tracklist
1.    David Pher – Wild Eyes
2.    Tuccillo – Alfatrack
3.    Audiojack & Kevin Knapp – On The Record
4.    Paul C & Paolo Martini – Big Black Car
