60 Seconds with… Luke K

Austrian DJ and producer Luke K is rapidly rising as one of the most talked about young talents around – dubbed to become one of his country’s major Dance music exports. At just 17 years of age, Luke K is already making big waves, having landed spots on important line-ups for:  Colorbash, Supergau DJ Clubbing, Stadtzauber, Lake Festival, Beatpatrol Festival and Electric Love Festival – after winning their prestigious talent contest.
 
Whilst he’s released his heavyweight debut single ‘Chronos’ back in August, Luke K is now lining up another outstanding production by the name of ‘Get Them Up’, set to hit the shelves in November. Having monitored Luke K’s rapid ascension we’ve decided to have a chat with him and get to know the essentials about him as an artist and his career through a Quickfire interview.

I started DJing and producing since…
One a half year ago.
 
I started making music because…
I was interested in producing my own sounds and I wanted to show myself and my feelings through music.
 
My current sound is…
EDM.
 
My main inspiration is…
Watching festival streams and going to festivals to gather new ideas.
 
People should listen to my music because…
I don’t have a mainstream style and I’m different from any other producer.
 
If I had to choose one of my own productions, I’d go for…
‘Chronos’.
 
My biggest achievement so far is…
Playing at the biggest festival in Austria – the Electric Love Festival.
 
My dream is…
To be one of the best DJs in the world.
 
My next release is called…
‘Get Them Up’.
 
My all-time favourite track is…
Forbidden Voices by Martin Garrix.
 
I’d love to work with…
Martin Garrix, OMI and Jason Derulo.
 
My favourite club/venue is…
I don’t even have a favourite club – I love all of them.
 
If I had to be something else instead of a producer/DJ I would be…
Producer and DJ ‘haha’ just kidding – maybe songwriter?
