It appears the recent Revealed Recordings North American Bus Tour wasn’t all about partying and good times. Away from the mainstage antics label boss Hardwell and one of the imprints most exciting young stars Thomas Newson were busy putting their production touches to a new collaborative effort ‘8Fifty’ – a track written entirely during the Revealed bus tour road journey. As you can expect from the coming together of two talented stars, the track is an anthem primed for big room spaces. Which is fitting given the track also marks the 250th release on Revealed Recordings.
‘8Fifty’ is a beast, a track that encapsulates everything good about what fans have come to expect from the label, whilst also showing how the labels sound is evolving. Opening with a cleverly pitched vocal sample that gives the track a great groove from the offset. The first break introduces the reggae vocal that hypes ‘8Fifty’ towards the drop. When it does come, it is a massive affair, full of cranking percussion, playful melodies and a roaring synth that is guaranteed to make any fan of Hardwell or Thomas Newson’s previous music go wild. The track goes into overdrive in the second breakdown, where a gliding riff soon makes way for the now-familiar reggae vocal to return and signify the inevitable explosion of music that is imminent.
Hardwell, Thomas Newson and Revealed Recordings continue to go from strength to strength, and add more weight to the notion Dutch DJ’s do it best when it comes to big room dance music. With both their sounds ever-evolving, it is evident that their forward-thinking take on the scene is as progressive as their musical style. Get your copy of ‘8Fifty’ now on Revealed Recordings!
