Collard is pleased to reveal Good Fog– a two-track project released Friday 24th March 2023. Produced by Zach Nahome and artistically curated by the SO Bureau, Collard’s new offering showcases his array of influences and an ear for soulful decadence. Collard describes Donny’s Wylin’ Out as “untamed carnal desire and unfiltered self-certainty”. A laid back soulful melody is paired with a trippy bass guitar as Collard’s falsetto vocals soar to dizzy heights. Time is Collard’s reflection on societal disconnection and a burgeoning sense of displacement, resulting in a delicate anthem for our times.
Collard is from another time and space. The 27-year-old was raised strict mormon just outside of South London, but his music says otherwise – a sad, sexy falsetto that comes straight from the soul, breaks from traditional structure and hits you in the stomach. With a Motown, gospel-loving mother and a father intent on raising him on a diet of Sinatra, Ray Charles and Eric Benet, the importance of soulful music and great songwriting was instilled in him from the start. Inspired by the feeling he gets listening to his heroes, D’Angelo, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Prince, and The Rolling Stones, Collard channels deep emotion, an old soul and an easy vulnerability that you cannot help but be moved by.
Since his critically acclaimed debut album Unholy was released, Collard has been dropping a steady run of singles, such as Brown, Gucci Shoes and Stone. Collard has collaborated with a wide range of artists from Bakar and Kojey Radical to household names like MJ Cole. Collard’s unique sound has attracted sold out audiences at London’s Omeara as well as a private performance in Milan for luxury jewellery brand BVLGARI, counting Elton John as a fan along the way.
