Matt Thompson releases new single “ECHO”

Award-winning American pop singer-songwriter Matt Thompson releases his new single “Echo”, available now. The track is an energetic pop anthem that blends early-2000s-inspired production with contemporary themes of emotional uncertainty and relationships.

“Echo” was initially written by Thompson on piano before being developed in the studio with producer Ryan Binhammer. The final production features layered synths, rhythmic percussion, and a hook-driven structure influenced by Y2K-era pop.

Lyrically, the song explores insecurity within a relationship, focusing on the experience of questioning whether a partner still has lingering feelings for a former relationship. The concept centres on emotional repetition and overthinking, reflected in both the song’s narrative and sonic structure.

The release follows a period of continued growth for Thompson. His debut album No Shame has accumulated over 4 million streams, while his sophomore album Accelerate produced multiple standout tracks, including “Devil’s Dance,” “Accelerate,” and “U Don’t Get 2”. His recent single “In the Dark” reached No. 1 on Amazon Pop Best-Sellers and charted in the Top 40 on U.S. Pop iTunes.
