Body Ocean & Matsu Unite For ‘Fall To The Ceiling’ EP via Dirtybird

Dirtybird today welcomes back Body Ocean and Matsu for their collaborative two-track EP, Fall To The Ceiling, out now.

Built between New Zealand and New York, Fall To The Ceiling captures the kind of global collaboration that continues to define Dirtybird’s next chapter. What began through virtual sessions across time zones eventually came together in person at Matsu’s Brooklyn studio, mirroring the same creative exchange behind the label’s Flight Week writing camps. The title track, ‘Fall To The Ceiling,’ twists through warped melodies and off-kilter grooves, while ‘Pulse’ delivers a driving, kinetic workout packed with inventive sound design and restless energy. Both records balance precision and unpredictability, creating the kind of head-turning moments that have become a hallmark of Dirtybird’s leftfield dancefloor sensibilities. 

“I’ve been a huge fan of Body Ocean since first hearing the project back in 2020. Every time we’ve worked together it feels like a challenge in the best way because I’m pushed to level up and take things further. These records have a real energy to them and have been doing serious damage in our sets for a minute now, so it feels right to see them land on Dirtybird.” – Matsu

Body Ocean is a house project fronted by Jeremy Glenn, ½ of drum & bass act The Upbeats, with production and creative involvement from Nik Roos, formerly of Dutch trio NOISIA. Body Ocean has released music on labels including Black Book Records, UKF, Night Bass, and Nervous Records. Body Ocean first landed on Dirtybird in 2023 with their Dotted Line EP.

Matsu is a Brooklyn-based producer and DJ and ½ of Omicasa alongside DJ Craze. After making waves on the DJ battle circuit, Matsu has released on labels including Fool’s Gold, Confession, Box of Cats, and Rules Don’t Apply. He made his Dirtybird debut in 2024 with ‘Ultimate’.
