KOOLAID Returns to His Drum & Bass Roots with “clinic”

After more than a decade away from the decks, KOOLAID returns with ‘clinic’, a high-energy liquid drum & bass release that reconnects him with the sound that first ignited his career while showcasing the evolution of an artist who has spent years pushing creative boundaries.

‘clinic’ arrives as a vibrant fusion of soaring melodies, glossy production, and euphoric energy. Built around lush synthesizers, driving rhythms, and an undeniable sense of momentum, the track captures the emotional lift and escapism that have made liquid drum & bass a global phenomenon.

Born in Charleroi, Belgium, to a Puerto Rican-American father and a Belgian-Congolese mother, Damien Hendrix has always drawn creative inspiration from the intersection of cultures, sounds, and identities. Known today for his genre-defying work as a recording artist, producer, and DJ, he has built a reputation for blending hip-hop, electronic music, punk trap, and digi-core into a sound that refuses easy categorization.

Long before earning recognition under the Damien Hendrix name, however, he was a fixture of South Florida’s underground electronic scene as KooL AiD. Between 2009 and 2012, he performed at some of Miami’s most influential venues, including Club Space, Nocturnal, Mekka, Livingroom, Club Cinema, Club Exit, and Club Boca, while becoming deeply embedded in the drum & bass community through collectives such as Konkrete Jungle, The Grime Monsters, and Zona Entertainment.

Now returning under the revived KOOLAID identity, he is embracing the raw energy and creative freedom that first drew him to electronic music.

Created entirely in Logic Pro using custom-designed sounds and digital synthesis, ‘clinic’ embodies that spirit of reinvention. The track balances underground credibility with crossover appeal, pairing liquid drum & bass textures with a polished, melodic approach inspired by artists such as Netsky, High Contrast, and Logistics.

The release also signals the beginning of an active new chapter for KOOLAID, with multiple performances scheduled throughout the summer.
