Vanco continues his hot streak with new Afro-House cut Wolf
Johannesburg-based DJ and producer Vanco returns with his highly anticipated new single ‘WOLF’, released via his own ALGRA imprint.
A deep, soulful and driving production, ‘WOLF’ is built around a hypnotic chord progression, rolling rhythms and a subtle wolf howling sample that adds an atmospheric edge. Crafted for a peak-time dancefloor, it’s a powerful, immersive cut that showcases Vanco’s instinct for creating records that command a room.
Already one of the most in-demand IDs in Vanco’s sets, Black Coffee, Adam Port, Shimza and Djeff are just some of the DJs who have been supporting ‘WOLF’ throughout 2026. Its release arrives as anticipation around the track continues to build following months of dancefloor testing across the globe.
On the track’s creation, Vanco says:
“Secretly inspired by ‘Thriller’, WOLF is a song that has had a life for more than 18 months. It’s an instrumental track, so I usually play it with an acapella, but it really stands on its own in its original format. It’s been a huge ID for me in my sets, and has had great support from people like Shimza, Adam Port & Djeff. I’m so happy it’s finally seeing the light of day, and it’s my first release for a while on my label, ALGRA… Big plans for 2027!”
‘WOLF’ follows last month’s release of ‘Yele’, a deeply spiritual collaboration between Vanco and fellow South African DJ and producer Themba. The new single also arrives off the back of the hugely successful ‘Repeat’ featuring rising British-Nigerian artist DEELA, which landed in the spring and quickly became a certified weapon in Vanco’s DJ sets. The track followed his record-breaking global success with ‘Ma Tnsani (Yalla Habibi)’ featuring AYA, which was officially crowned the #1 most Shazamed track in Ibiza of 2025 and has since surpassed 100 million streams worldwide.
The release of ‘WOLF’ coincides with Vanco’s biggest London headline show to date, taking over the upscale club 77 this Saturday 26th September for the 500-capacity club’s first birthday celebrations. The single also lands following a particularly busy run of international shows, taking in Cova Santa in Ibiza, Muzone Festival, Kuma in Belgrade, Mas Tiempo at Hï Ibiza and Cavo Paradiso in Mykonos, amongst many others.
Hailing from Douglasdale, Johannesburg, Vanco has carved out a distinctive sonic identity rooted in house music, blending cinematic textures and global electronic influences. Known for his eclectic style, his productions are driven by powerful basslines, thundering percussion and rich, emotive vocals, all interwoven with an unmistakable African flavour. Across his career, he has released music on his own ALGRA imprint as well as Sony Music, Universal Music Group, Get Physical, Defected and Sondela Recordings. His collaborative catalogue includes his unofficial edit of Tyla’s ‘Water’, which became a global club phenomenon, dominating dancefloors from Ibiza and beyond while earning support from some of the most influential names in electronic music including Rampa (Keinemusik), Black Coffee, Themba, &ME, Pete Tong and Masters At Work (Louie Vega).
A seasoned performer, Vanco has played extensively across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and beyond, with appearances spanning Ultra South Africa, Ibiza, Santorini, Dubai, Bali, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Turkey and Portugal among many others. Career highlights include debut performances at Blue Marlin Ibiza, Club Chinois and Savaya Bali, alongside appearances at Mixmag Lab South Africa, Defected’s London studios and Ibiza Global Radio.
