Sean Miller – Matter of Time

Toronto-native, Sean Miller gears up for the highly anticipated release of his brand new EP, “Matter of Time” out May 18, 2015 on Ovum Records. For nearly two decades, Sean has built a strong and vibrant career, putting out superior productions that have found their way onto some of the most established record labels in the industry and “Matter of Time” is nothing short of that.

Complete with 3 tracks, his work on “Vida” already made waves at this year’s BPM Festival, appearing in the “Top 14 Tracks that Ruled BPM” according to Beatport and now, nearly three months later we can celebrate its release!

Come June (Original Mix) – Just as its title would suggest, this Latin flavoured record has arrived just in time for summer. The quick, off-beat rhythm resembles that of something you’d hear in a smokey Cuban bar and will have you on your feet dancing in no time. An upbeat percussive section starts this track off before the distant, twinkling of a marimba-like instrument comes in. The strong rhythm is soon met with a soft melody, carrying the track forward before letting out into another burst of Latin fever.

Vida (Original Mix) – It’s no wonder that this track was named one of the “Top 14 Tracks that Ruled BPM” at this year’s BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen. This record is the perfect balance of Afro-Latin meets techno. The sexy, heavy, underlying bass drives this track forward, while a variety of interesting instruments play overhead, giving “Vida” a truly one of a kind sound. Tribal-like chants appear part way through, adding melody and depth. “Vida” means life, and this record is full of it!

Vida (Percapella) – the final track off this EP, “Vida (Percapella)” is a stripped-down version of its original. The kick, which gives the original a techno feel is left out of this version, giving it a brand new rawness. At moments, there are even small gaps of complete silence. The Afro-Latin drums and shakers, paired with tribal chanting give the track a very wild feel. Even with less layers, this version is still very much full of life!
