Zapéd - Zapéd – After Prague

Recently we were treated to the new single from Australian-bred/Berlin-based electronic producer Zapéd, it was titled ‘Prague’ and it is seeing its official release this week along with a B-side track, ‘After Prague’.

“One afternoon I was playing around and experimenting with a few different vocal samples and ideas, which ended up being an interesting mix of strange melodies and howling falsettos. They fit perfectly with the beats I was working on that day, creating a nostalgically atmospheric feeling that I was really vibing on, and straight away I felt that this track could work really well alongside ‘Prague” – Zapéd

Zapéd began writing ‘Prague’ back in 2014 after a big night out in Berlin. It was around 5am and he began laying down a few weird synth loops and experimenting with a stack of different ideas; including hitting a stick up against a bowl and recording abstract sounds in his bedroom. He had forgotten all about this late night/early morning recording session until he visited Prague around 2 months later, and to him it was like finding that $20 note you lost behind the couch months ago.

A warbling synth takes the lead on ‘Prague’ as it carries you through its streets of atmospheric samples and sounds. A pulsing electronic beat sets the pace as your attention is drawn toward Groszek’s infectiously sweet vocals, and a wave of summery nostalgic feels wash over you with an invigorating delight.

‘Prague’ will be seeing an official release in just a few weeks time, along with three incredible remixes; two Brisbane producers Weakling and Grand Pavilion, as well as Boys Get Hurt all the way from Japan.
