AV AV AV - About You

Having already gained support from the likes of Toddla T, “About You” is the first single from the forthcoming ‘Everything Is True’ EP (full release on March 10th 2017) by the Copenhagen based, but internationally recognised, electronic trio AV AV AV (Phonetic translation – 'Ow Ow Ow').  And it's a taste of how 2017 is going to sound on the electronic music scene.

The band members August "ELOQ" Fenger, Anders "Unkwon" Dixen and Martin "Dj Er Du Dum Eller Hvad" Skovbjerg had been friends and big fans of each other for a long time. Without any expectations and no other goal than to have fun, the three friends travelled to a remote cottage in Denmark to make music and hang out, which resulted in them becoming a band.

The fact that friendship is the core of AV AV AV is especially present in the track “About You” which was written during a rough time. August and Anders created the first tones of the track one day in the studio, forwarding the track to Martin as an uplifting thought, as he had spent the day at the hospital with his mum who was battling cancer.

In the music video you also get a special insight into their friendship and the energy that the music emerges from – mixed with concert footage from the past years.

Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut EP "They Live" last year, AV AV AV received a lot of attention internationally, from airplay on BBC's Radio 1 to compliments from Diplo who referred to the music as “Future Gospel”.

“It was a strange experience – we went from sitting and playing around with music in a cottage, to all of a sudden noticing on snapchat that Diplo and Skrillex were listening to our EP in their private jet,” says a surprised band.

In Denmark the group won the prestigious Critics Choice Award in the category ‘Producer of the Year’. The Jury explained the sound with the words: “A nightlife euphuism…with AV AV AV you’re not just getting one, but three of the best producers in Denmark."

AV AV AV’s first live performance was proof of their great artistic depth as a live act when they played to a sold out concert hall at the Danish National Radio last year. Since then, they have played a sold out Club NME at KOKO in London and other critically acclaimed concerts at By:Larm, Sonár Reykjavik/Stockholm/Copenhagen & Roskilde Festival to mention a few.

“Our intention is to become one of the best live acts in the world within the next couple of years”, the band says. “Our focus is to use an extraordinary amount of resources to take the live experience to the next level."

The electronic trio definitely has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. Besides playing selected European festivals in 2017, they will continue to release more singles, not to mention an EP and a full album.
