Above & Beyond have announced that they will perform a very special yoga set to open proceedings at Steel Yard London on Saturday 26th May Bank Holiday.
One of the UK’s most in-demand dance acts, Above & Beyond are known to most for their timeless dance records such as ‘Sun & Moon’, as well as their euphoric live shows. This May however, their fans will get to experience a totally different side of the band as they host a very special and rare yoga session in collaboration with London-based yogi Nadia Narain.
Above & Beyond first performed an impromptu yoga set at Burning Man’s infamous ‘Robot Heart’stage in 2014 – a magical moment which was shared by just a handful of music lovers on the deep playa. However, the set was subsequently uploaded to Soundcloud where it has since garnered over 1.7 million streams. This prompted the trio to host another guided yoga session, this time at the magnificent Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State. Thousands of dance fans attended the session, which was met with an overwhelmingly positive response, setting the wheels in motion for more special yoga sets at select events around the world.
At Steel Yard London, Above & Beyond will provide a meditative soundtrack, including original productions recorded specifically for the occasion, while Nadia leads a relaxing, gentle practice designed to bring some calm to the 15,000 capacity Steel Yard superstructure before the day’s more traditional dance music schedule unfolds.
Paavo from Above & Beyond commented: “We're excited to be opening up our first London gathering of 2018 by bringing our yoga set home. Our friend Yogi Nadia Narain will be guiding you through the journey, and it's open to everyone: no mat or previous yoga experience required. We'll provide the soundtrack, all we need is you.”
Fans are urged to arrive early to be part of it. Gates open at 1pm
