Organisers for the first ever ‘Wonderwood’ on Saturday 27th July at the abandoned forest of Witton Woods, Blackburn, have revealed that once the main action is over, guests will be able to carry on dancing at the official afterparty. It all goes down at Blackburn’s premier venue Rendezvous (fka Rios) from 10.30pm until 4am. An array of much-loved local talent including Matt Thiss, Grant Mizon, Joe & Jenno, Symposium DJs and Just Jake will all soundtrack the afters and tickets are on sale now with a limited number of advance purchase tickets available from just £7 + BF, online at www.wonderwoodfestival.com. On top of this, the official site map and exciting list of traders providing delicious food options and pamper parlours have also been revealed for the colourful and immersive nine-hour event, which will be headlined by Bugzy Malone, Gorgon City, Todd Terry, and with Low Steppa, Sonny Fodera, Crucast, Sam Divine, Holy Goof and many more in attendance.
With the unveiling of the Wonderwood site map, revellers can now see where each stage will be and start thinking about who they want to catch, when. It shows an assortment of areas including the ‘corridor of light’, and where to find the ‘WonderEats’ food world, complete with mouthwatering global cuisine that caters to a wide range of tastes, as well as the ‘WonderTreats’ area with award winning desserts and special extras for those wanting to add a bit of glam to their Wonderwood experience.
Full details of these are now revealed with WonderEats offering classics from Eat New York such as burgers, hotdogs, topped chips and bagels, as well as Mexican tacos and burritos, and Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine from Yardies. Pizza lovers will be catered for by The Dough Girls, who use a converted horse cart as a wood-fired oven and top their pizzas with only the freshest, most exciting ingredients.
For those who want to treat themselves over in WonderTreats, Terry’s Ices will be serving up award winning Frederick’s Ice Cream, or get themselves fully done up with glitter, hair and body paint at the Vigilante Boutique in the VIP area. Indigo Moonoffers the same sense of sparkle in the main festival site, and The Corner Shop sells essential supplies like sweets, cigarettes and much more.
The music at Wonderwood is spread across three stages, the ‘Panoramia’ themed Main Stage, which is flanked by thousand-year old great oak trees, ‘The Warren’ which is a canopied void in the forest, and ‘Arcane’, a VIP stage for those who like a taste of the high life with relaxation areas, massage and plenty more. Each one has its own charm and will ensure the whole Wonderwood experience is like exploring an immersive, sensory stimulating world with a world, a million miles away from everyday life and responsibility.
