Norwegian-born, Los Angeles-based electronic duo Lemaitre – comprising Ulrik Denizou Lund and Ketil Jansen – return with a new EP, Afterglow (Astralwerks), which is now available worldwide for download on iTunes HERE and streaming on Spotify HERE and SoundCloud HERE. The four-song collection follows the duo’s early 2016 EP, 1749, which contained “Closer” featuring Jennie A, which has upwards of 23 million streams on Spotify.
Afterglow includes Lemaitre’s new single, “Playing To Lose,” which features the massive, magnetic voice of 22-year-old New York-born singer Stanaj. “The track perfectly intertwines Stanaj’s lush vocals with Ketil Jansen and Ulrik Denizou Lund’s softly pulsing electronics, complete with a smackdown of synths and guitar licks to up the intensity just a bit,” said VMAN, which gave the track its world premiere.
The EP also includes the anthemic “We Got U” featuring New York electronic duo The Knocks (Ben “B-Roc” Ruttner and James “JPatt” Patterson). Idolator hailed “We Got U” as a “disco-infused, whistle-filled banger” and noted, “It’s impossible to listen to this with a frown.” The official video for “We Got U” can be viewed HERE.
Lemaitre will kick off a month-long headline tour on October 20 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. The North American run will include shows at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles (October 21) and New York City’s Irving Plaza (November 3). At Lemaitre’s shows, the imaginative arrangements are further fleshed-out with a live drummer, a spectacular new light show and the band’s signature illuminated logo installation.
