AK Sports Debuts on HARD Recs With Ferocious Modular Techno Jam “Ride Or Die”

Sydney-bred artist AK Sports is a forward-thinking producer, DJ, and radio host who is spearheading the nu-rave movement. Their unique sound fuses elements of breaks, hardcore, techno, bass, and warehouse-ready energy. The multi-talented creator makes their debut on HARD Recs with the relentless techno anthem “Ride Or Die.”

“Ride Or Die” is a peak-time techno cut that’s brazen and bursting with confidence. Gritty female rap vocals make their presence known as soon as it enters the frame, flaunting an unwavering ferocity while offering an anthemic and swagged-out edge. The addictive vocals drift over a shifting soundscape that moves between brain-bending hypnotic melodies, murky chord triplets, frenetic shifting beeping tones, and pummeling percussive programming. Chunky kicks give the track a ruthless drive that amplifies the club-ready sound. The short but stripped-back drum breaks offer a brief lull in the intensity and make the heavy core hit even harder. The simplistic yet impactful vocal anchors the track while the ever-progressing production allows listeners a never-ending source of excitement. This is the soundtrack to losing oneself and every iota of worry on the dancefloor.

“‘Ride or Die’ was birthed from a modular jam and a techno kick,” says AK Sports. “Shout out to your ride or die.”

AK Sports is a Sydney-born and -bred artist currently operating out of Los Angeles. They are a resident on the iconic Rinse FM and recently closed out the Boiler Room LA party with Warp Mode. AK Sports was named one of the ‘10 best emerging female, trans, and non-binary producers‘ by Dummy Mag and has been touted as an ‘Emerging Act’ by Beatport. Their work has been supported by Alan Fitzpatrick, Jamz Supernova, ONYVVA, Partiboi69, and Dameela. Early last year, AK Sports hosted one of the recent Boiler Room showcases in LA, presented by their co-founded WARP MODE warehouse party collective alongside local legends Bianca Oblivion and Star Eyes. Later in the year, AK Sports went on to close out the main stage at the Boiler Room: LA Open Air festival, sharing the stage with Bored Lord, Introspekt, Hiroko Yamamura, Bapari, INVT and many more.

AK Sports recently hosted a homecoming tour in Australia, and will be heading to EDC Mexico the day after the single’s release, performing alongside Sara Landry, Indira Pagganatto, Nina Kraviz, and more.

Brazen, bumping, and energetic, “Ride Or Die” is a warehouse-ready anthem from the rising star.
