ALEX FLATNER & LOPAZZ – Courtesy (REMIXES)
Hot on the heels of the excellent original “Courtesy” EP, from Alex Flatner and his super-talented label friend and colleague LOPAZZ, the Mannheim based multi-tasking DJ/Producer/A&R/Circle label boss has put together a stunning remix package by some of the most exciting, talented artists out there right now.
Romanian born and now Nurenberg based, DJ/Producer Markus Homm, can regularly be found behind the decks of some of Berlin’s finest clubs (Panorama Bar, Watergate and Tresor, or international destinations from Madrid to Tokyo. With such a strong pedigree, it is no wonder that his deeply delicious, bassline driven remix of “Courtesy” creates a most compelling groove, and is the perfect opener for this super-high quality package.
Berlin based DJ/Producer Christoph (aka Click Click) is a master of his own highly distinctive fusion of funky nu-disco, with deep house styling and a twist of pop appeal, so his reworking of “We’re No Good” is undoubtedly, incredibly addictive. Meanwhile, representing the UK, a club classic production and remix machine (think Sasha, New Order, Skunk Anansie, Seal etc.), namely Blue Amazon, ups the ante with a highly energetic, techno interpretation of “Courtesy” that oozes total dynamic inventiveness.
The next interpretation is from the superb Inner Rebels, a duo from France & Greece formed by Manos & Rafael Cerato. Their highly infectious, super-original combination of deep groovy house, nu-disco attitude and boundless energy, will surely prove to be a highlight for many. This amazingly diverse and entertaining remix package put together by Alex Flatner, also features a digital only bonus remix from Australia’s Grey Area, who are purveyors of strikingly fresh and original music and who reach beyond familiar audio templates and deliver a darker, deeply dubby, spacious, melodic tinged workout to round off proceedings in style.
LOPAZZ and Alex Flatner lock themselves in the studio at every available opportunity, developing their musical masterpieces and every once in a while a highly interesting taste of their creative juices emerges, so you can expect to hear more examples of their uncanny studio chemistry together, very soon.
