The well-established Blumoog hits release number 10 with a split EP that features two tracks from Alexi Delano and Marko Nastic with remixes from Cari Lekebusch and label boss M.R.E.U.X.
World-renowned producer Alexi Delano has credits on Minus, Plus8 and Drumcode and here teams up once again with the super-hot Marko Nastic from labels like Adult Records and Carillon Records. They previously released on this label this time last year with ‘Speak Machine’ so this is a welcome return.
The brilliant ‘Wonderer’ opens up the A side with a distorted and compressed kick together with intricate bass. All of this falls into place when the sharp and well programmed percussion comes into play alongside a mysterious and liquid sounding synth that takes your attention. Scandinavian techno legend Cari Lekebusch remixes, delivering a solid techno groove that is consistent with his early “hybrid” style and perfectly heavy. A slightly mellower approach comes from Delano and Nastic on ‘Phrases.’ After a big build, an ethereal chorus break is a change of pace that makes this tune a thrilling experience overall. Closing things out is M.R.E.U.X. who is once again able to serve up some no-nonsense, clean, pounding and percussive techno with real style.
This is a fittingly essential release from Blumoog on the mini milestone that is its 10th outing.
