Crossover dance star Nils Noa returns to his own co-founded label Troll Records with another fine single in the form of All Along. He offers up two great versions that will please fans both old and new.
Noa has an atmospheric dance style that comes on both underground imprints and big major labels. He is in charge of bookings at Oslo’s leading club, The Villa, in Oslo, where he plays alongside the likes of Dubfire and David Squillace and is in playful mood on this newest cut.
‘All Along’ is seven excellent warm and vibey minutes of elastic house music. The drums are fat and inviting, the synths squirm about with a real sense of funk and watery sounds, snatched vocal cries and soulful synth chords all add charm and colour as things bounce along irresistibly. It’s loose but engaging and will add majesty to any DJ set.
A special Villa dub has been no doubt designed with Noa’s home club in mind. This one strips things back to the bouncy and booty shaking drums, warm chords and curious synth sounds and is even more direct in its impact.
Both cuts here are slick, well produced and contemporary affairs that will excite real house lovers all over the world.
