Clif Jack‘s record label MJA the Vision presents an exhilarating peak-time techno release by, AM.I.
AM.I is a Belgian artist known for her DJ sets at events like Tomorrowland, where she has played on the Drumcode stage. She is also a skilled producer whose music has been released on respected record labels ranging from Metodi Hristov’s Set About to Simina Grigoriu’s Kuukou.
This two-track EP showcases AM.I’s mesmerising style, which is a blend of thundering percussion and invigorating synth lines that create captivating suspense. The first of the tracks has a pounding style with full-throttle energy, while the second track has a melodic flow with captivating suspense.
MJA the Vision is also an events series run in Clif Jack’s home city of Padova in Italy, and along with DJ sets from the label owner, the events have also played host to the likes of Timo Maas.
“Distorted Life” is the EP’s opening track, and its full-throttle percussion and rumbling bassline create a framework for uplifting pads that are wrapped in dark atmospherics. The distorted tones of the lurching lead synth add a ferocious tension that intermingles with the acid line’s pulsating tones.
“Low Tension” has a throbbing bassline and fast-paced rhythms that create a foundation for the fragmented tones of the dramatic lead stabs and spine-tingling pads. It’s an epic slice of techno with an expansive sound and driving percussion.
