If you’ve ever wondered what a Pain Au Chocolat sounds like, then feast your ears on the new single from Animal Feelings . ‘ Pain Au Chocolat ’ is the disco follow up to Animal Feelings ’ infectious somber groove ‘ Falling Ft. Thief ’ and the slow building, futuristic single dropped earlier this year, ‘Divine Love Ft. Nomi Ruiz ’. The first of a string of new releases delving into a mixture of disco, synth heavy, trap-esque bass drops and solo piano pieces.
Talking about the title of the track Oli Chang explained, "I think the only thing sexier than chocolate and butter are humans. I decided to combine the two ideas to make this song about the sexiest person alive. Her name is Pain Au Chocolat!”. ‘ Pain Au Chocolat ’ establishes the mixtures of sound which Chang works in, creating a pop-disco groove, that would give anyone the confidence to fall in love and dance all night long. Some would say the exact feelings of taking that first bite of a Pain Au Chocolat.
Animal Feelings ’ Oli Chang is most known for his work in the dream-pop duo High Highs , however, after moving to New York, Chang was immersed into Brooklyn’s incubatory culture, working with close friends and artists building upon his solo project. His previous single ‘ Falling Ft. Thief ’ received massive hype reaching #30 on the Spotify Viral Charts and was hosted on the tastemaking YouTube channel Majestic Casual . Animal Feelings has also just finished playing two prestigious shows at the MOFO Festiva l held in Tasmania’s world renowned Mona Museum .
With an official lyric video and string of remixes on their way, you can catch Animal Feelings on Saturday the 24th of March at Sydney’s World Bar for the ‘ Pain Au Chocolat ’ single launch, further details to follow.
‘Pain Au Chocolat’ is out on the 23rd February via Tinted Records .
