Anomalie & Bad Snacks link up on new single ‘Hummingbird’

Montreal producer Anomalie and LA-based artist Bad Snacks have joined forces on new single ‘Hummingbird’, out now.

Pairing delicate piano chords with majestic strings, ‘Hummingbird’ is a smooth jazz creation that arrives like a cool breeze on a hot summer’s day. Following on from ‘Memory Leaves’ featuring Masego, ‘Come Running To Me’, ‘Dribble’ and ‘Bond’, which have amassed over 1.2 million Spotify streams so far, it’s the final single release ahead of Anomalie’s hotly-anticipated new album Galerie. Also featuring the likes of Charlie Puth, Chromeo, D Smoke and Odesza, the LP marks a new sonic direction and, for the first time ever, vocal collaborations – while staying true to the sound that has built a worldwide fanbase and remains unmistakably his.

“I first met Bad Snacks when she opened for our west coast dates on our 2019 North American tour,” Anomalie explains. “I was blown away by her production and performance chops on her set and the way she incorporated several violin layers to give the impression of a full on strings section. With this track ‘Hummingbird’, I was looking for that type of sound and she just brought the vibe of the track to another level!”

“As a long time fan of Anomalie’s, being able to collaborate on this was such an honor and a blast,” Bad Snacks adds. “It’s not very often that I get to hand over my strings to somebody who’s ear that I trust so much, and his vision and soundscapes are SO fun to play with and create within. Love this track and I hope that the lightheartedness of the vibe is relayed to whoever listens to it. :)”

Having sold-out two world tours by the end of 2020 with his intricate four-piece live band, and performed at the likes of Red Rocks, Montreal Jazz Festival and Electric Forest Festival, Anomalie has achieved so much already as an independent artist, with 2022 is set to be his biggest yet.

An experimental electronic hip-hop producer, Bad Snacks makes her own beats and often plays with a synthesised violin on top of them. Amassing millions of streams across her back-catalogue, her last album Bathtub Bumps was released in 2020.

The final single release ahead of the release of Galerie, ‘Hummingbird’ further heightens the anticipation for Anomalie’s new album.
