On August 3rd 2015, Sian will unleash his 23-track LP titled Anthracite on his very own Octopus Recordings. Known for producing classic modern techno, Sian’s Anthracite will take you down the rabbit hole with its tantalizing basslines and ominous sounds. Sian stands out as a little more bohemian than the average electronic talent, offering the industry his very own sounds of the underground.
“The album consists of 23 tracks, and they all fit together in some weird way like a cinematic soundtrack. It features slower, more spaced out tracks, going into heavier, freakier, dance floor techno.”
– Sian
On Monday July 6th, Sian released the first 3-track EP off the Anthracite album: Medicine Man. Medicine Man – Starts off with a persistent sense of urgency and a modulated bassline. Haunting voices lurk in the background, making it a mysterious journey throughout the record. Fur – The atmosphere grows in tension with its infectious groove and quirky sound effects. Diamond Shore – Kicks off with its stomping bass, rolling into a techno frenzy.
Haling from Barcelona, the Dublin born artist is an innovator, and influencer of the big room techno scene. This past year, Sian has been studio bound to create what is a hypnotic, futuristic LP. White hot synth lines and emotive soundscapes writhe along with rolling basslines and clean drum machine hits. Sian makes his way to Los Angeles for the summer season, making it his home base while not on the road.
In support of the album, Sian kick’s off his large scale Anthracite tour July 31st in Toronto, making his way to 27 cities from July to December 2015. Sian will make stops in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Seattle and more! Wednesday July 22nd – make sure to grab your exclusive free download of one of the bonus tracks off the Anthracite album on XLR8R.
