Marius Circus is back on his In The Garden imprint this March with his two-track ‘Apt’ EP.
Norway’s Marius Circus has been releasing his brand of funk infused Nu-Disco since 2011 via the likes of Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp, Ocean Moon and of course his very own In The Garden imprint where he returns to here following 2017’s ‘Shorelines’ EP which grabbed the attention of DJ’s like Jennifer Cardini, Atjazz, Mystic Bill and Charles Webster amongst others.
Leading the way here is title-track ‘Apt’ with its dropped tempo Balearic feel driven by bumpy square wave bass hits, organic drums and sweeping filtered synth leads before the focal point of the record introduces jazz-tinged melodies and playful woodblock work.
‘Chateau Des Mourgettes’ then rounds out the package on the flip with a slightly darker edge via murky, reverberated synth drones, choppy bass hits and shuffled drums which all steadily unfold across the tracks five and a half minutes.
Marius Circus’ ‘Apt’ EP is out on In The Garden 2nd March 2018. Tracklist
