Artist Performances Announced For Inaugural Aux Awards Ceremony

A fantastic lineup of independent music talent has been announced to appear at the inaugural Aux Awards which takes place as a livestreamed event on Thursday 30th March at 7pm GMT.

Staged by Aux App, (www.aux.app) where artists can collaborate remotely using market-leading sync and backup tools; the awards will celebrate some of the brightest names and brands that have been recently making waves.

Confirmed performances come from singer-songwriter Emma Mae, Brighton-based Psychedelic Rock quintet CLOUD, alternative lyricist Anna Wolf, and shoegaze/alt-rock outfit, Silktape.

The Aux Awards will be hosted by vibrant Head of Community, Joe Belham, with an appearance from founder Ben Bowler who’ll be giving a run down on the new features forthcoming on the ever-expanding Aux platform.

An experienced startup founder and developer, Bowler built, launched, and sold, DJ live streaming platform Chew.tv which grew to a community of over 500k members. Then, as a digital nomad, he developed a series of startups while cycling around the world, leading to the launch of Indie Tech Ltd – a startup studio building software for music, media and gaming.

To find out who takes home the awards, guests first register via Eventbrite then join the event on YouTube. As well as exclusive performances from nominees, 10 lucky winners who view the stream will win a 6-month Aux VIP Plan, giving a huge 1TB of storage to upload all their music projects, plus unlimited access to the Aux Guide, full of key music industry contacts, allowing them to quickly build the network they need to progress.

Thousands of people voted in the Aux Awards in just over four weeks. Across 11 categories, the general public have voted from a shortlist thoughtfully selected by the visionary team at Aux together with an impressive list of partners from all areas of music including, Music Ally, HotVox, The Independent Music Insider, Access All Areas and Far Out Magazine.

Emma Mae is up for ‘On Repeat’ (Best Independent Single) and will perform her nominated track ‘When Paris Calls’ live. Switching it up from her usual unapologetic ‘bitch pop’, ‘When Paris Calls’ features quick tempo Latin beats designed to make you dance, while her clever lyrics capture the bitterness and sadness of an affair.

Psychedelic rockers, CLOUD will perform a track from ‘The Fourth Planet’ nominated for ‘Long Play’ (Best Independent Album). The album journeys through the eyes of an explorer, creating a surreal world as the band conjure up rays of cosmic rock ‘n’ roll, all viewed through an altered lens.

Nominated for ‘Game Changer’ (Most Innovative Artist) is Anna Wolf, who will also play live on the Aux Awards livestream. This talented indie artist utilises poignant lyrics together with unpredictable and impactful instrumentation, alongside vocal stylings reminiscent of Kate Bush. The result is alternative music which hypnotises audiences as it pulls them on to a path of self-discovery.

Silktape are nominated for ‘Hot Tip’ (Best Independent Artist / Group) – judged by the Aux team – and will also perform live for Aux. After firmly establishing themselves as a live act to watch with sold out shows towards the end of 2021 they kicked off ’22 with debut single ‘Stride’ and seem set for big things with their brand of shoegaze / alt rock.

With both Creator and Industry categories, the awards are voted for by the Aux user community and the general public, be they a fan of the nominee or a passionate musician themselves.

With over 100 nominees lining up as potential award recipients, some of the shortlist includes: Hira, Ruth Royall and Satl who are all up for Best New Artist; Sunny Bones, Gentlemen’s Club and IMANU who are contenders for Best New Video; Royal, Looped and Instruments of Things for the Future Tech award, and NQ, Most Wanted and Pirate Studios who are all in line for the Breaking Barriers accolade.

With many more features to come from Aux in its full launch later this year, including its pioneering artificial intelligence technology where artist connections are suggested based on a wide range of factors; its ever-expanding platform is set to become an indispensable platform to help music creatives of all profiles, reach new levels.
