By now, DJ SHARE, aka Sharon Pieksma from Rotterdam, is anything but a well-kept secret. With multiple releases on renowned labels and an impressive list of international gigs under her belt including SXM Festival, Reactor Venao, Gardens of Babylon, and Goat Community, she’s making serious waves as an artist with a unique sound and commanding presence.
In this article we explore what fuels her artistry, while letting you know where you can dance to her sets this summer.
Over 11 years ago, SHARE began her journey as a DJ, with her music often centered around a strong message. From the start, she wove environmental themes into her sets and artistic direction.
Some may remember her as Miss Universe Netherlands 2019, but behind that title was a deeper mission. Using the international platform to raise awareness around single-use plastic and environmental issues.
That same year, she took a natural step into producing her own music. In 2022, her debut release “Avatar” dropped. As if it was meant to be, she was approached by none other than BLOND:ISH’s label Abracadabra to release the track.
She premiered “Avatar” during the Abracadabra showcase and Bye Bye Plastic charity event, BLOND:ISH’s nonprofit dedicated to creating a plastic-free music industry.
Since then, SHARE hasn’t slowed down. With her EPs “Firewalk” and “Moon”, she further cemented her distinctive sound, and her track “Oh Please” found a home on Crosstown Rebels, the prestigious label by Damian Lazarus.
While SHARE’s sets were originally defined by a deep, organic sound, her style has noticeably expanded over the years to include genres like indie house and tech house. That evolution has gone hand-in-hand with her growth as an artist. After countless gigs in her home country, like Gardens of Babylon, Pleinvrees, and Thuishaven, her schedule quickly filled with international bookings.
She has since performed at events like SXM Festival in St. Maarten, Goat Community and Nomad Souk in Portugal, La Karavane in Morocco, Soho Beach in Dubai, and Reactor Venao and Playa Venao in Panama.
Since relocating to Ibiza last year, SHARE also became a regular name on the island’s lineups. This summer, she’ll be returning multiple times to the magical Woomoon at Cova Santa. Besides this, she will make her much-anticipated debut at Hï Ibiza, sharing the lineup with heavyweights like Black Coffee and Damian Lazarus.
Of course, you’ll want to experience SHARE’s unique energy and self-produced tracks in person. Luckily, there are plenty of opportunities this season. Check out her confirmed gigs below (with more to come).
