Ilona Maras is a producer who is very much making her mark. She releases on the Emotive Sounds label and already came correct there late last year. Now she returns once more with one more spine tingling track of deep house brilliance that comes with a remix from Mawran Sabb.
Up first the original from Maras is Asrar and is as soft and absorbing, tender and musical a tune as you could imagine. It is rippled with great synths and gentle piano keys and really sucks you deep down into an emotive world. The remix is much darker, with a broken minimal beat, more coarse textures and dark paranoid vocals bringing a late night sense of unease. It is a real winner and rounds out a top EP.
