Madrid based LNDKHN imprint return this April with their second release featuring Landikhan and vocalist Niña Indigo with remixes from Ed Is Dead, Lemurian, Rooteo & Mahura and Spaniol.
Fresh from their inaugural ‘Icaro’ EP, featuring remixes from SidiRum and Matthew Style, the creative Madrid based collective Landikhan return with another seminal single. The ‘Astral’ EP enlists the help of mysterious vocalist Niña Indigo, not to mention remixes from Trueno Club radio show co-host, awarded and multidisciplinary Madrid musician Ed Is Dead, Cosmic Awakenings boss Lemurian, analog specialists Rooteo & Mahura and Sonido Tropico label head Spaniol.
‘Astral’ is a hypnotic and pulsating cut featuring a drawn-out brooding bass line that fluctuates around an infectious rhythmic swing built from stripped back and tribal tinged percussion, before the dubbed out and atmospheric spoken words of Indigo delve deeper. Ed Is Dead’s Tripped Remix then ups the anti, condensing the track’s essential elements into a captivating loop of rolling organic drums and sub low kicks, adding distorted soundscapes and spiralling melodies.
Lumurian then takes the controls with his slow-building and menacing edit of Astral, which hones in growling bass licks and ghostly arpeggios, before Rooteo & Mehura’s rework further processes the original’s dissipating effects whilst fusing in his own galactic synth lines. Spaniol then closes the package with his deep edit of ‘Astral’, recruiting devious tumbling percussion with visceral subs and spectral sounds.
Landikhan feat. Niña Indigo ‘Astral EP’ drops on 21st April on the LNDKHN label.
