Canadian producer ATYYA has delivered a powerful UK bass single, ‘How We Hit It’. Blending the many facets of the UK scene from across the Atlantic, fans have become accustomed to intense, immersive, low-end design.
This latest track takes that gut-punching bass and decorates it with stuttered vocals and bright, jazz-tinged chords, giving it that warehouse energy but an edge of finesse. Dropping into the weighty, rolling bass, the drums enforce the order, with poised, precise and tight production. A blend of hypnosis and hedonism, rich with flourish and never lacking a floor-shaking jab.
In ATYYA’s words, “Originally, my idea was to make this a high-energy bass tune from start to finish. When I was polishing the main bass sound, out of curiosity, I cut all the highs out of the bassline with a low-pass filter. That moment changed the whole trajectory of the track. The smooth, rolled off bassline inspired a whole new chill vibe, garnished by jazzy chord stabs. I ended up loving it and fused this vibe into the track with the harder-hitting drops. The contrast between the 2 different vibes really tied everything together.”
