Australian DJ & Producer returns with the Monozukuri EP on Colin Dale’s Abstrakt Dance label

Stalwart Australian techno DJ & producer, Biz, returns with the stellar futuristic double-handed “Monozukui EP” headed up by the title’s deep breakbeat tech soundscape. Flanked with the sensual deep beats of “Manipulate”, this continues the rich form of Colin Dale’s Abstrakt Dance label.

“Manipulate”s pulsing rhythms immediately create a sensual futuristic soundscape of bendy eerie keys, tough electronic beats and bleepy interplay that comes and goes in deep techno style. “Monozukuri”s stark beats intro things before the rising 80’s influenced keys resound and build as hi-hats patter underneath ahead of the tech-influenced carnival of breakbeats unfurling. Deep yet spacey & other-worldy, it’s filled with a cinematic energy guaranteed to make the dance floor move. Emotive soundscapes paying homage to Detroit’s classic sound but updating with modern beats.

Biz is one of Australia‘s first wave of techno DJs and a key player in the evolution of the country’s electronic music scene since the late 80’s. His creative flair on the decks and his ability to work the dance floor demonstrates an incredible passion for the art form. As a producer Biz has worked with some of the world’s techno greats with releases on Christian Smith’s Tronic label, Laurent Garnier’s COD3QR, Transmat, Exalt, Get Physical and English labels such as Further Electronix. A list supporters include Dave Clarke, Goldie, Laurent Garnier, Darren Emerson and Extrawelt.

Biz has helped shape the Sydney techno scene immeasurably having run three import record stores and compiled releases for labels such as Force Inc and Detroit’s Submerge imprint. He promoted the legendary Flash parties that introduced Sydney to the legendary Techno artists of Detroit and also ran Chinese Laundry’s Tech-Ni-Cal club which was one of the southern hemisphere’s leading techno clubs. He continues to live and breathe the spirit of techno culture.

Visionary UK DJ Colin Dale is founder of the Abstrakt Dance label which launched in 1994 with the ‘Full Tilt’ EP by ‘Dark Star’ (who incidentally is Colin’s brother, Trevor Dale). Originally a vinyl label, Abstract Dance went digital in 2013 and its early vinyl releases are sought after due to their techno rarity.

Notable release include Paul Mitchell’s ‘Camouflage’, the label’s biggest seller to date and their last release, from the ‘Recharge EP’ in which all the tracks got a great response. Other influential releases include Colin Dale’s ‘Guiding Light’ EP with the stand out cut ‘By Any Means Necessary’;  the Detroit-influenced ‘Return EP’ from Jules Dickens and Tactik’s ‘Entering Detroit EP’.

The “Monozukuri EP” from Biz is out now on Abstrakt Dance Records  via all digital stores.
