Award winning rapper Q052 drops his new single ‘Space Invaders’

Revolutionary Mi’gmaq rapper and activist Q052 shared a scintillating single titled ‘Space Invaders’ on May 6th, 2025 via the Musique Nomade imprint. ‘Space Invaders’, accompanied by a gritty, retro visualiser, is the first track off his forthcoming album, slated for release in October 2025. The poignant single also received support from acclaimed publication CLASH Magazine. Q052 – ‘Q’ for Quentin and 052 for the number assigned to his reserve – is the stage name of Quentin Condo, whose music reverberates with a powerful social conscience. Known for his electric live performances, Q052 has landed numerous features on Radio Canada and shared the stage with iconic acts like Cypress Hill, while also gracing the stages of major festivals such as FEQ, La Noce, OFF Québec, Innu Nikamu, Festival Kwe!, FME, Festival Bleu Bleu, and Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée. He is a regular guest on TVA’s La Tour, captivating audiences with his unique voice and unapologetic message.

Hailing from Gesgapegiag, Gaspésie, and now based in Sherbrooke, Canada, Q052 is a fierce advocate for Indigenous peoples, particularly the struggles faced by youth and the protection of Indigenous women and girls. Winner of Best Male Hip-Hop Artist at the 2023 International Indigenous Hip-Hop Awards, he has earned numerous prestigious nominations, including Indigenous Artist of the Year at the 2021 ADISQ Gala, and nods at the 2022 Teweikan Gala in both the Expressive Music Artist/Group and Blues/Rock Artist/Group categories. His album also earned a 2022 GAMIQ nomination in the Hip-Hop Album category.

Drawing from a kaleidoscope of influences – including Ty Segall, Immortal Technique, Cypress Hill, Black Sabbath, and Rage Against the Machine, amongst others – Q052 crafts a sound that is raw, electrifying, and deeply political. His fusion of hip-hop, grunge, alternative rock, and spoken word, wrapped in sharp, uncompromising lyricism, is sure to resonate with fans of other inspirations of his: Public Enemy, Run DMC, and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard. He brings a post-apocalyptic soundscape where old-school flow collides with cyberpunk-rock-infused beats – percussive, searing, and urgent. On stage, Q052 channels this explosive energy into visceral performances that confront Indigenous identity, social justice, and personal struggle with unflinching honesty. With his hard-hitting trio (drums, keys, and rap), Q052 is more versatile than ever, using his voice as both weapon and witness, while continuing his frontline advocacy for land protection, education, and Indigenous sovereignty.

‘Space Invaders’ is a raw, unrelenting old-school alternative hip-hop anthem that sets its sights on those who falsely claim Indigenous identity to exploit resources meant for real communities. Thick, hard-hitting beats punch through the air as sharp, unapologetic lyrics carve a path through the chaos. The track unfolds in a post-apocalyptic world where scorched metal clashes with the ravaged earth beneath, fusing cyberpunk rock with classic hip-hop — think Public Enemy, Eminem and Mobb Deep meets Mad Max. A stripped-back, brutal energy propels it forward, delivering a no-holds-barred statement against cultural appropriation – a driving force that is as impactful as it is fierce.
