Leeds duo Twenty2 deliver three dancefloor focused house cuts with Resonance Records founder Max Chapman on remix duties.
Known individually as dub.c and SecondSelf, the newly formed pair has taken on the Twenty2 moniker having worked together over the last three years. This year they can already boast remixes on the likes of Domino Effect and Dexter Kane’s Shadow Sanctuary imprint, making their debut release on Resonance a milestone in their propitious partnership.
‘Games Master’ gets the ball rolling with a heady spoken word sample and moody groove until ‘Axis’ combines intricate percussion with savage kicks and cloudy synths. ‘Hotline’ is the last of the originals and delivers murky samples and sinister brass as the track dips in and out of introspective breakdowns. Tying it all together Max Chapman’s rendition of ‘Games Master’ injects his signature energy with the help of an engaging rhythm and purring bassline.
Twenty2 ‘Axis’ EP is out on Resonance Records on 25th May 2015.
