Former Swedish House Mafia members Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso have revealed their new video “Something New,” premiering exclusively on THUMP in the VICE Channel on Snapchat Discover. The first song from their forthcoming LP, “Something New,” recalls the very best of Swedish House Mafia but with a bright and looser energy that lives up to its title. Directed by another duo, Ian & Cooper, the clip takes the viewer on a motorcycle ride through an elongated traffic jam in the desert. At the end, there are only two questions: Where can we get leather jackets like that? And is this the road to Ultra Miami?
“Something New” was first heard introducing the Beats by Dr. Dre #SoloSelfie global holiday campaign on NBC’s national broadcast of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The full song premiered on Zane Lowe’s acclaimed BBC Radio 1 broadcast as “The Hottest Record In The World,” followed by a consecutive hottest record win with their second single “Can’t Hold Us Down.” These back to back titles marked Axwell Λ Ingrosso as the first band in history to receive two hottest records from the same album.
