As excitement continues to build around the launch of Axwell Λ Ingrosso’s ‘Something New’, US producer AMTRAC has turned his hand to the track, providing an eclectic, melodic twist on the anthemic original mix.
With accomplished remixer Robin Schulz having already unveiled his official rework, AMTRAC works a much deeper, altogether darker version. Knocking the vocals down a couple of octaves keeps the remix in line with AMTRAC’s signature style, while the overall direction of the track transforms ‘Something New’ from daytime party track to chilled, late night anthem.
A producer on the rise, AMTRAC has seen significant success over the past 12 months with a host of eclectic reworks for artists like Duke Dumont, Kaskade and Zhu also earning plenty of recognition.
The release of Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s ‘Something New’ in early 2015 follows the unveiling of ‘Can’t Hold Us Down,’a track which premiered as Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record in the World’ and was subsequently named ‘Essential New Tune’ by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. The duo have also been confirmed to close Coachella and headline the Ultra Music Festival this year.
