Axwell Λ Ingrosso, former members of the legendary Swedish House Mafia, have officially raised the curtain on their new album project with ‘Something New’ – the first official single from their eagerly-anticipated debut album as a duo – scheduled for release in 2015 via Virgin EMI in the UK and Def Jam Recordings in the US.
With Zane Lowe premiering the original version on his coveted BBC Radio 1 show as ‘Hottest Record in the World’, ‘Something New’ has also now received an altogether more mellow and ethereal edit from acclaimed remixer Robin Schulz. Premiering as the opening track to Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show, the remix transforms the high energy festival anthem into a smooth, night-time production.
Robin Schulz has a long list of high end remixes to his name. With his version of Lilly Wood & The Prick’s ‘Prayer in C’ hitting #1 in over 40 countries and his platinum status remix ‘Waves’ for Mr. Probz, Robin has transformed himself from a virtual unknown to an internationally acclaimed star in a little over a year.
The release of Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s ‘Something New’ in early 2015 follows the unveiling of ‘Can’t Hold Us Down,’a track which also premiered as Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record in the World’ and was subsequently named ‘Essential New Tune’ by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. The duo have also been confirmed to headline Coachella and close the Ultra Music Festival this year.
