Axwell Λ Ingrosso, former members of the legendary Swedish House Mafia, have officially raised the curtain on their new album project with ‘Something New’ – the first official single from their eagerly-anticipated debut album as a duo – scheduled for release in 2015 via Virgin EMI in the UK and Def Jam Recordings in the US.
With Zane Lowe premiering ‘Something New’ on his coveted BBC Radio 1 show as his ‘Hottest Record in the World’, Axwell /\ Ingrosso follow on from this with a super slick lyric video for the track. Combining fluidic motion with stark, contrasting colours, the video takes you on a journey into the creation of the subtle images of Axwell and Ingrosso, while the lyrics play out on the screen.
Partnering with Beats By Dre as the official song of the #SoloSelfie Campaign, the launch of the ad has so far received 14.5million plays online and the track is already charting highly – it’s currently at #1 in the Radio 1 Dance Chart and also in the Cool Cuts Chart.
The release of ‘Something New’ in early 2015 follows the unveiling of ‘Can’t Hold Us Down,’ a track which also premiered as Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record in the World’ and was named ‘Essential New Tune’ by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1.
