Axwell & Shapov Unveil Winner For ‘Belong’ Music Video Competition

Following the success of their newest release 'Belong' via Axtone/Ultra worldwide, Swedish icon Axwell and Axtone starlet Shapov are proud to be teaming up with media titan Revolt.TVto reveal the winner of their prestigious 'Belong' global music video competition.

Starring in the video is Panchito, an adorable white maltese who embarks on an epic quest to return to his loving home. The journey isn't without perils however – Panchito finds himself wandering the wilderness, battling the harsh elements, and trekking across terrain more suitable for his distant cousin, the wolf. But the determined canine perseveres, finding himself in the loving arms of his owners at the culmination of the video. With stunning scenic backdrops, aerial drone views, and a fair amount of stellar cinematography, video director Jose Javy Ferrer's submission stole the hearts of Axwell & crew upon first review, securing Panchito and Ferrer's place among the Axtone legacy.

"We are so excited about winning this competition, it's super that we are all the way in the other side of the world and still connected for this one project in the most unusual way. My family and I are so proud of my doggy (Panchito) as he did an amazing job in his first feature role as an actor. Now he deserves a nice vacation!" – Ferrer

A month ago, video directors, visual artists, and fans were given the unique opportunity to submit their video creations for Axwell & Shapov's latest collaboration, "Belong." Videos were allowed to be of any nature at all and the competition wasn't limited to professional directors – everyone was encouraged to show off their skills and personality. With the first prize winner winning the grand prize + an endorsement from Axtone, and the second + third prize winners also taking home prizes, the competition saw entries skyrocket into the thousands, further magnifying how ground-breaking this opportunity could be for emerging visual artists.

About Axwell
With a decade of unflinching influence on electronic music, Four-time Grammy nominated Axwell is renowned for bringing a melodic flare to the house music world. The Swedish icon has evolved into a festival favourite and sought after production force with an arsenal of IDs under his belt, not least as one half of Axwell Λ Ingrosso. Axwell’s is a legacy that has both defined and outgrown the club floor on numerous occasions. His solo productions have consistently found a place in the commercial charts as well as the dance floor; and on the live stage, be it Madison Square Garden, Coachella or V Festival, Axwell has further managed to take his musical output to the masses without ever neglecting the club floor or his ability to deliver.

About Shapov
While he may be a new name to the dance music community, Russian artist Shapov has paid his dues and rightly established himself under his previous moniker, ‘Hard Rock Sofa’. Since signing to Axtone Records, Shapov has been busy with a string of heavily-supported releases, showcasing his genre-defying style. Along with a string of EPs, and singles, Shapov has lent his remixing hand to the likes of CamelPhat and Afrojack, cleverly combining classic and forward-thinking elements that have come to form the “Shapov sound.”
