Following closely behind the success of Mumbai Science’s ‘Frequency Response’, which (after finally leaving the sanctity of the dancefloor) has picked up spins from Annie Mac, Pete Tong, B.Traits and Monki, Weapons returns with another sure-fire belter, ‘Bahp’.
For the newly launched Weapons, the mantra is in the name. Harking back to the days where the best dance tracks were made for the club, not the radio, Weapons promises to supply pure dance floor tracks, for DJs and dancers alike. It’s fitting then that Weapons now shares a track from Metroplane, a collective of two highly sought-after producers who’s musical journey together started after a one-off B2B set they played in Asia that went down with the crowd so well, they decided to continue.
‘Bahp’, the latest creation from Alex Metric and Aeroplane’s joint moniker Metroplane, is an infectious house track with warm melodies and layers of chopped vocals that build into an explosive bass led groove. The repetition of the immaculate vocal mantra is a standout feature of this track that has been igniting dancefloors for the past few months.
Both established and emerging artists alike are putting their ‘secret weapons’ in the safe hands of this new label, where every tracks journey starts in the club. Through the release of the most exciting and cutting edge electronic music, Weapons will appropriate the language of war and use it to spread love, not hate.
