2014 was a huge year for Melodic (some call it Tropical) House music. While the genre exploded in Europe and started taking off recently in North America, scene pioneer Bakermat has been at it spreading hia form of heart and soul melodic house music for nearly three years. Now, in support of his new single and forthcoming debut album Another Man, Bakermat returns to North America for his biggest tour yet. Commencing this weekend, the Another Man tour will bring Bakermat to SXSW, WMC/Miami Music Week and 17 cities across the United States and Canada.
Bakermat’s breakthrough, “One Day (Vandaag)” made it to the top of the charts all around Europe (Sold platinum in Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany) while opening doors for the ‘Melodic House’ genre to be played to a larger audience (many DJs and producers started making music in this genre following the single’s success).
The last two years Bakermat played at the most prestigious festivals around the world and hosted his own stage ‘Bakermat and Friends’ at many huge festivals such as Tomorrowland. He also embarked on a special ‘Full Live Band’ tour around Europe, where he played with five musicians (violin, vocal, piano, percussion, saxophone) on stage.
“A lot of deejays just spin some records, but I always like to make it a bit extra special and add a human touch to it,” he says. “I always try to add something special to my dj sets, like a violin player or saxophone player. The live element adds so much to the performance.”
With a steady stream of new music and his biggest North American tour yet, 2015 is going to be a smash for Bakermat. Get on this now.
