The program of MasterCard Balaton Sound, the premium electronic music festival, is now ready. The line-up hosts the biggest international DJs and Lake Balaton awaits the visitors with a 2 km beach and numerous venues to keep the party going. The 4+1 day beach party is held between 8-12 July in Zamárdi, Hungary.
Summer is coming and MasterCard Balaton Sound tickets are selling quickly. By now it’s not a surprise, considering the fact that this is one of the few electronic music festivals with a real lakeside connection, as about 2 km of beach awaits fans of music and summer right at the festival area. This year the enlarged festival area will have exclusive decorations and visuals as well as more than 20 program venues to make sure everyone finds the right party. In 2015, the 9th MasterCard Balaton Sound will entertain the audience for 5 days.
8th July – Special Day 0 program
The special additional day called “Day 0”, 8th July, will start with one of the most awaited DJs, Tiesto, who has already played at Sound exactly 4 years ago. Oliver Heldens will also bring his sets to the main stage, that has the capacity of more than 20.000 people. Situated both on water and land, the very popular Terrace will open with Jan Blomqvist and Guy Gerber. Fans of Dyro and AronChupa should also be in Zamárdi already on Wednesday, as the Jager Arena will also have its kick off. Day tickets are still available in a limited number, but the passes are better value as they include all 5 days.
Line-up
The regular festival days also have a very strong line-up. The gigantic tent of the Telekom Arena will host well-known DJs for 4 days as the Grammy Award winner Zedd, Kaskade, Ummet Özcan, Vinai, Quintino, Don Diablo and Firebeatz. The techno fans can find their favorites as Loco Dice, Pan Pot and Chris Liebing in the tent. When it comes to the MasterCard Main Stage, we can see the biggest stars, who are among the top 10 DJs of the world as Tiesto, Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Nicky Romero. The main stage will also be the home of Faithless and Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Afrojack, Showtek, DVBBS, Laidback Luke and R3HAB as well. Besides the electronic music scene, organizers would also like to please the fans of hip hop and r’n’b. This year Jason Derulo and Ludacris will have a frenetic show at the premium festival.
Looking through the main venues, the program of the Jager Arena seems like the most eclectic one. Roni Size Reprazent, Netsky, Noisia, Leftfield will bring their music as well as Rae Sremmurd, Joey Badass, Pusha T, Flosstradamus, Boys Noize, Bloody Beetroots, Charli XCX, A-trak and Odesza. The Terrace will host such acts as Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Oliver Koletzki, Ame, Skream, Claptone Immortal live. Unfortunately there have been some minor changes in the line-up. The show of Bakermat and Art Department had been cancelled, but Eats Everything will come to play at Terrace instead.
Special program venues of 2015
This year’s focus is Lake Balaton and the beach, so MasterCard Balaton Sound will have a record number of beach terraces, piers, lounges, cocktail bars and party venues. One of the most awaited venues this year will be an exclusive yacht called “Telekom Rave”. The program will feature Debut, HiFly, RAW, NVC, LavaLava as well as Hector Couto, Cuartero, Fur Coat and with a special b2b set Gorje Hewek & Izhevski as well as Big John Whitfield. Every morning from 10 AM refreshing drinks and shady couches will wait the party people on board!
The Jana Pier will have comfy deckchairs, wonderful panorama and a sandy dance floor. A peaceful spot during the day and a venue of hardcore partying at nights. Down tempo, chill, deep house, tech-house, EDM, r’n’b, breakbeat, hiphop, garage and many more genres will be brought to the audience by the resident DJs of the Hungarian club scene.
Last year’s Nagyon Balaton Gastro Garden will be transformed to the Nagyon Balaton Terrace, where main focus will be on the best wineries and restaurants of the Balaton Region, so great food and excellent wines and champagne can be expected. At the same venue, organizers of Nagyon Balaton will present the excitements of the Balaton Region with the help of unique installations, while souvenirs and designer products of regional artists could be found here as well. The professional partner of this year’s Nagyon Balaton Terrace is We Love Balaton, Magyar Konyha and the Balaton Kör.
Among the many program venues, visitors can enjoy the Heineken Pier and Cocktail Bar with an own pool, the Finlandia Pier and for the first time the VIP Camping will have an exclusive sunbathing pier on the water. This year a dedicated venue will await the fans of d’n’b. Head honcho of Liquicity Records Maduk, RAM Records icon June Miller and up-and-coming talents Posij and Fre4knc will play here.
Tickets
Passes and day tickets are still available, but organizers advise everyone to get their tickets as soon as possible as Balaton Sound is a sell out event every year. This year a special Day 0 (8th July) is added to the regular festival days, included in the Festival Pass, featuring Tiesto, Oliver Heldens, Moti and many more. This day turns out to be more than just a warm-up day as almost all venues will be in operation to give a good kick start before the “regular” days. Day 0 tickets are available in a limited number, only 300 pieces are left, so it’s expected to sell out by the beginning of next week. The best value is the Festival Pass, turning the 5 days of Balaton Sound into the best beach party of the summer.
