Does Bart B More ever let up? His relentless slew of killer dancefloor tracks forSTMPD RCRDS this year have marked him out as one of the most prolific names in the scene. With his inimitable style that mashes up bass, house, electro, rave and garage into one potent concoction, he continues to dominate dancefloors across the world. ‘Hamsterdam’ is the latest wild beast to emerge from his workshop, and it’s another potent track.
Ominous wafts of filtered bass and nagging, spooky arpeggios welcome us into this haunted track as sharp hi-hats provide a metronomic backbone. Bugged-out vocal loops start to increase the manic feel as a rasping synth rises from below. An old skool breakbeat fill signals the arrival of the drop, where distorted ravey leads do battle with stuttering riffs, skipping garagey beats and heavy bass grunts. The sinister breakdown brings back the haunted house vibe before another round of hardcore dancefloor madness.
Bart has a big summer of festivals ahead, with dates including Sziget,Creamfields, Mysteryland and Lollapalooza Berlin. In the meantime, Dutch fans can witness him rock Moksi & Friends in Tilburg on May 25. With such a big catalogue to draw from and countless new studio experiments to test out, his sets are always a must-see.
