Basti Grub drops tech house summer anthem, ‘Whoomp’

Basti Grub is back on his record label Aprapta Music with a feel-good house track that pays homage to a hip hop classic.

Perfectly timed for the summer, its upbeat vocal and chunky percussion combine to create a bumping groove that will set the dance floor alight.

Based in Germany, Basti Grub is a revered producer whose eclectic style is a forward-thinking blend of genres ranging from tech house to indie dance, and he has featured music on prestigious record labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Innervisions, Diynamic and Hot Creations.

He is also a skilled DJ who has played many international shows at prestigious nightclubs and festivals in countries ranging from Australia to America, and this booty-shaking new track has been a secret weapon in his sets for quite some time.

Whoomp” takes its title from well-known hip hop lyrics sampled within the track. Using the lyrics as a hook, Basti has worked in a backing track with a tech house drum beat and a rumbling bassline. It’s a light-hearted track that brings the heat just in time for the summer party season.
