This sympathetic Belgian artist and producer, otherwise known as Jef Martens, remains on the cutting edge of electronic dance music, keeping his eyes on the future at all times and consistently challenging himself and the genre at large. That forward-thinking mentality has been ingrained in his very DNA, and it serves as a creative catalyst for him to this day.
Whether it’s his larger-than-life-big room tunes Gregory’s Theme and Again And Again, which topped the Beatport charts for weeks, his production work for the global hit single Scream & Shout by Wil.I.Am & Britney Spears or Azealia Banks’ breakthrough single 212 (under his moniker Lazy Jay), Basto productions always equal high quality and innovativeness.
Teaming up with the angelic Dutch songstress Maruja Retana – who previously worked with Fedde Le Grand, Marco V and Robbie Williams’ producer Guy Chambers amongst others – Basto presents the single Electric Stars. The single will be released as the official theme for the Heineken Ibiza Final 2014: an Ibiza based event where Heineken celebrates both the closing of the UEFA Champions League tournament as well as the start of the Ibiza summer season.
Next to the Hit & Run remix, used as the original score for Heineken’s 2013 Ibiza campaign, an additional remix was handed in by Belgian producers duo Alvar & Millas, rapidly emerging talents who had the honor to officially remix Britney Spears and Beyoncé. The duo’s tunes may count on the DJ support of a.o. Steve Aoki, Ferry Corsten, Showtek, Chuckie, Cedric Gervais, Nari & Milani, Yves V and the world’s #1 DJ Hardwell, who featured one of their recent releases as ‘demo of the week’ in his Hardwell On Air radio show.
