In the world of alt-pop, bby ivy is making waves with her emotionally resonant artistry. The Norwegian-born, London-based singer-songwriter has captivated audiences with her latest EP, Closing Chapters, a seven-track exploration of heartbreak and healing. With a rapidly growing fanbase and millions of streams, ivy’s star is undeniably on the rise.
Music has always been ivy’s compass, influenced by her family’s rich musical legacy. Growing up outside Oslo, she was inspired by her father, uncle, and grandfather, all musicians in their own right. “I always wanted to create music that touched people,” ivy recalls. Her global journey through Spain, Los Angeles, and London has infused her work with a distinctive and deeply personal sound.
Closing Chapters, is ivy’s most transformative project yet. Inspired by the end of a pivotal relationship, the EP dives into themes of betrayal, love, and closure. “Each track is a snapshot of my healing process,” ivy explains. The EP’s vulnerability resonates with fans, offering them a mirror for their own emotional journeys.
The highlight of the EP, “With My Love,” is a masterclass in emotional songwriting. Featuring ivy’s soaring vocals over a sparse piano arrangement, the track captures the rawness of heartbreak with stunning clarity. Written entirely by ivy, it exemplifies her skill as a storyteller and solidifies her reputation as a rising star.
As she closes out a successful 2024, ivy is already charting new territory for 2025. “This EP is a goodbye to the past and a hello to what’s next,” she shares. With promises of bolder sounds and unapologetic confidence, ivy is set to redefine her artistry and continue captivating the alt-pop scene.
