The latest offering from Miguel Campbell’s Outcross Records comes courtesy of in-house label duo MAM, with ‘Beats of Science Vol 6’ playing host to two brand new tracks – ‘Global Warm Up’ and ‘Voicebox’.
Maintaining the vibrant disco elements from their previous releases, ‘Global Warm Up’ is defined by a solid, funk-laden bassline and glossy synth-melodies that build on a colourful, summertime aesthetic that’s continued with aplomb via second track ‘Voicebox’. The latter is again groove-filled, although this time complete with looped vocal samples and powerful, soulful chords that hark back to an era of dance music not easily reimagined.
